Colosseum of Rome

The Colosseum of Rome built in approximately 70-72 AD was built for festivals, gladiator battles, and theater plays. Emperor Vespasian requested that the colosseum to be built as a gift for the people of Rome. His sons including Emperor Titus helped finish building it. The Colosseum began to open in 80 AD. The colosseum is owned by the Italian government. I think the roman colosseum holds interesting history, and its a place I’d love to visit one day.
